“I have had the pleasure of being a participant in the Simpli Hearing Aid benefit program in my 3 offices since its inception with Network Health 3 years ago. In this time in our profession when many insurance companies chose to use 3rd parties to administer hearing aid benefits to patients to the detriment of both the patient and the audiologist, the Simpli Hearing program has been a breath of fresh air.
Most 3rd party administered hearing aid benefits are in place to lessen insurance companies hearing aid costs but are a lose–lose scenario to both the patient and the audiologist. They limit patient manufacturer and technology choice, severely limit access to professional services, significantly complicate the hearing aid ordering process and severely limit included professional warranty service and professional reimbursement.
The Simpli Hearing program in my experience is just a better way for health insurance providers to offer quality hearing aid benefits to their members and is a program an audiologist can live with both professionally and financially. It offers significant patient discounts without limiting patient choice of technology. Also, patients chose warranty length allowing for further financial flexibility and cost savings when needed by patients without sacrificing hearing aid performance. Also, the hearing aid ordering process could not be any more uncomplicated, which I appreciate.

“Simpli Hearing Network Health Plan is a unique Wisconsin based program that benefits the insured member for the purchase of hearing devices while allowing for a favorable profit margin for the audiologist.
