The audiologist is going to be able to deduce how severe the hearing loss is. Moreover, they will be able to use the test to find out whether you are experiencing hearing loss in one ear only or whether this is something that is impacting both of your ears.
To understand the results of the tests, you need to know a little bit more about sound and how it is measured. The unit we use to measure sound is what is known as decibels. This can determine the intensity of the sound. To give you a better understanding, if someone was to talk into your ear at a normal level, this would typically be around 60 decibels. If someone was to whisper in your ear, on the other hand, this would be as low as 30 decibels.
