Who We Are
We understand choosing a hearing care provider is a big decision. At Hearing & Balance Centers of West Tennesse, our number one priority is delivering exceptional patient care. Our staff combines years of expertise in hearing healthcare, and is well-trained on a variety of services ranging from evaluations to treatment.
We believe great care includes establishing great relationships with our patients. Treating hearing loss is an ongoing process that requires regular follow-ups, maintenance and cleanings to keep you hearing your best. Our staff is here to support you not only during your initial visit but throughout your entire journey to better hearing.
Our Providers
Dr. Courtney P. House
Audiologist
Dr. Courtney P House earned her Doctorate and Master’s Degree in Audiology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. She also has a B.A in Communicative Disorders from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Tackett received her Doctorate in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, AZ, her Master’s Degree in Audiology from then Memphis State University, and a B.S.E. in Speech Pathology at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. She is Board Certified with the American Academy of Audiology and has a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Kile graduated with a Doctorate in Audiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX in May 2023. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from The University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK. Dr. Kile is Board Certified with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Hearing Instrument Specialist
Elizabeth A. Hopkins is Nationally Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tenn. Ms. Hopkins is a member of the Tennessee Hearing Society. Ms. Hopkins began her career in hearing healthcare at the Shea Clinic in Memphis, TN. While there, Ms. Hopkins began working in the Audiology Department and eventually moved full-time to the hearing aid division of the Clinic, Hearing Services of Memphis.

Ms. Frederick graduated from the University of Memphis, Memphis, TN with a Master of Arts Degree in Audiology in 2000. She also has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Memphis. Ms. Frederick is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Hawkins is Board Certified with the American Academy of Audiology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Edna May Jackson
Office Manager
Edna May joined our practice in February 2013. She holds a certification in business administraion from the Katherine Gibbs Business School in New York and worked for a number of years as secretary to the publisher of McGraw-Hill. Prior to moving to Jackson, she worked at the corporate headquaters for JC Penney in Plano, TX for over 20 years. Mrs. May manages our Jackson office, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and assisting patients and our audiologists with all of their administrative needs.

Erin Finley joined our staff March 2022. She schedules appointments, greets patients, collects patient information, assists patients and the audiology staff with all of their administrative needs, and works closely with our Billing and Insurance Specialist.

Billing & Insurance Specialist
Jana joined our staff in 2019 as our insurance and billing specialist. She is in charge of all of our patient insurance and accounting. Jana enjoys helping patients receive the maximum benefits available to them. She also handles most of the behind-the-scenes operation of the office in Memphis. Jana and her husband, Tim, have two sons. When she’s not busy with her family, Jana enjoys repurposing old furniture and painting. She grew up in St Mary’s, Georgia and is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan!

Leanne Montgomery joined our practice October 2021. Ms. Montgomery assists the audiologists in Jackson with all of their administrative needs. In addition, she assists with our daily Walk-In Clinic, orders supplies, repairs, and manages inventory.

Audiology Assistant
Starry Bady has worked in the Memphis office part-time since 2017. She assists the audiologists with administrative duties and credentialing. She also works closely with the Front Office staff. She’s a definite team player! Starry was Memphis born and raised. She loves everything Memphis-the southern hospitality, music, sports, our history, and of course our BBQ! She also enjoys cycling trails downtown and visiting historic landmarks.
