At work or play, daily activities can put your hearing at risk. Noise-induced hearing loss is the most common type of hearing loss, and it is preventable with the right hearing protection. Over 30 million workers are exposed to damaging levels of noise at work, and 50% of people in the 12-35 age range use personal listening devices at levels that are damaging to hearing. Protect your ears and your hearing with hearing protection from Alliance Center for Hearing. Our audiologists take the same approach to fitting hearing protection as we do with hearing aids. Every solution is customized for your needs and comfort.
Custom earmolds
Custom earmolds are made from a cast of your ear. This process only takes a few moments for the audiologist to create a mold of your ear. Earmolds are worn at the top of the ear canal and in the bowl of the ear. Full shell and half shell styles are available. Talk to the audiologist at Alliance Center for Hearing about your noise exposure and get an expert recommendation and fitting.
Hunters like electronic earmolds that amplify background noise to help detect prey and still suppress the damaging levels of noise created by live ammunition. Some shooter’s earmolds are perfect for the rapid-fire of sporting clays. There are even earmolds that can be worn over earbud headphones and under pilot headsets.
Custom earplugs
Like custom earmolds, custom earplugs are created by making a cast of your ear canal. The audiologist at Alliance Center for Hearing can make the cast in the office in just a few minutes. Custom earplugs are worn in the ear canal and can provide protection that is comfortable even with hours of use. Many earplugs are fitted with small handles or cords that make removing them easy.
Custom earplugs aren’t just for noise protection. They are worn to protect against wind and water too. Some people wear them to help create a quiet environment for sleeping.
Musicians earplugs and monitors
Bismark musicians and music lovers depend on Alliance Center for Hearing for specialized hearing protection made with their special needs in mind. Music is wonderful, but amplified voices and instruments can damage hearing with repeated exposure. Whether you work in a nightclub or perform music on a professional or amateur basis, you need hearing protection.
The audiologists at Alliance Center for Hearing understand a musician’s need to reduce the decibel level without distorting the sound. We offer custom solutions that reduce the sound level without distortion and options with attenuators that allow some sounds through while blocking others. We can even custom-make in-ear monitors to replace stage monitors.
